That traumatic experience went on to forge Alex’s interest in helping other filmmakers avoid similar heartaches. He provides a detailed account of what happened and the lessons he learned along the way in his new book, Shooting for the Mob.

Alex Ferrari is an accomplished filmmaker, post-production supervisor, colorist, and editor. He is also the creator of Indie Film Hustle, a popular film podcast and blog. A few years ago his short film Broken received an endorsement from Roger Ebert, which helped Alex gain traction on the film festival circuit.

More recently Alex has worked as the colorist on Hulu’s new series Dimension 404, a Twilight Zone-like series for the Internet age. Dimension 404 is narrated by Mark Hamill and includes guest-starring performances from the likes of Joel McHale (Community), Lea Michele (Glee), and comedian Patton Oswalt.

The first feature film Alex directed is This is Meg, which stars Jill-Michele Melean (Reno 911). It premiered at Cinequest 2017 and will be available on iTunes this summer. The S.P.A.A.C.E Program, a series he directed for Legendary Pictures Digital and Nerdist, is also slated for a summer release.
